Join Our Board of Directors and Make a Lasting Impact on Health Care!
Are you passionate about health care and dedicated to making a difference in your community? The Tumour Foundation of BC is searching for individuals like you to join our dynamic Board of Directors.
As a Director on our Board, you will have the opportunity to bring your expertise and enthusiasm to support our mission of optimizing the health and well-being of British Columbians affected by neurofibromatosis (NF). Your valuable contributions will help shape the future of our organization and enable us to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those living with NF.
The Tumour Foundation of BC has been a vital charitable organization since 1984, tirelessly serving the community affected by NF. While NF may not be well known, it affects approximately one out of every 2500 births. This condition causes the uncontrolled growth of tumours along the nerves of the brain and body, leading to severe consequences such as blindness, deafness, disfigurement, cancer, and even death. Sadly, there is currently no cure for NF. However, our mission is to provide medical care, support, education, and awareness to patients and families impacted by NF, empowering them to live their best lives.
Now is an exhilarating time in the history of NF. With the recent approval of the first drug to treat NF tumours, health care for patients with NF is rapidly evolving. There is newfound hope, and we need passionate individuals like you to help us seize this opportunity and drive positive change.
As a Board member, you will play a crucial role in providing governance, developing policies, and ensuring the availability of sufficient resources for our organization to carry out its mission effectively. Your insights and strategic thinking will contribute to our growth and impact as we navigate the changing landscape of NF healthcare.
Join us on this exciting journey to transform the lives of NF patients and their families. Together, we can make a lasting difference in health care and create a brighter future for those affected by NF. Apply now to become a Director on the Board of the Tumour Foundation of BC and be part of something truly extraordinary.
