We Can’t Do Our Work Without You!
The work we were doing prior to the pandemic was essential to the NF community and must continue. With the numerous queries we have received about NF and COVID-19 over the past six weeks, it is clear that our community needs a clinic of specialists to manage this complex disorder. The Board is committed to continuing our advocacy work to ensure that our government does not forget the needs of those affected by NF.

With our two fundraising events cancelled because of social distancing laws, we are relying on the generosity of our community to help us. We are a small team doing important work in challenging times, and we need your help to continue.

Please consider making a donation to the Tumour Foundation of BC. Even a small monthly gift makes a difference.

Without you, none of what we do is possible.

OUR IMPACT
The Tumour Foundation of BC has been working around the clock to ensure our services remain available to everyone who needs them. Our staff and volunteers have been working virtually for more than a decade, so we have been able to adapt our programs quickly.

Here are five ways we are currently serving the community:

  1. Our support meetings are now held exclusively online and have shifted from monthly to weekly gatherings.
  2. We continue to offer confidential 1:1 support calls for anyone who wants to talk through fear or uncertainty, or has questions about living with NF. You can email info@tumourfoundation.ca or call us at 1-800-385-2263 to schedule a session.
  3. We are finishing developing treatment guideline brochures for adults with NF1. The brochures will be available on our website in May 2020 for download and use at doctors’ appointments.
  4. We launched the first NF Read-a-thon! Not only is this a fun activity to entertain children during lockdown, but will help build literacy skills for the 80% of children with NF who have learning disabilities.
  5. Our annual symposium on September 26th will continue, although this year the event will be 100% virtual.
